An AI model can slow down for several reasons. Sometimes, too many copies of the server run at once. This uses up resources and makes the AI model slow. Other times, a safety feature might block the AI model from working on the developer's own computer. Limits on how many requests the AI model can handle can also cause slowdowns. If the AI model processes tasks one after another instead of at the same time, it will be slow. If the AI model waits too long between tasks, it also slows down. Having too few workers to handle tasks makes the AI model slow. A developer should first check how many server instances are running. This often solves many speed problems.
A developer notices that their AI model is responding very slowly. The developer checks the server settings. They find that many old server instances are still running. These 'zombie' instances are using up computer power. The developer stops the extra instances. The AI model then runs much faster.

When a developer restarts an AI server, old processes might not stop. Each restart can add a new instance.
When an API call fails, the AI model must state the exact error. The AI model must then find the problem in its own code.
The Batch API is best for tasks with more than 50,000 calls. The cost savings must be worth a 24 to 48-hour wait time.
A developer can use a special admin console. This console is a simple web page that connects to the AI model's server.
