An AI model must not use paid services without clear permission.
A developer must always get approval for costs. This rule applies to all expenses, even very small ones.
A developer must always ask for permission before spending money on an AI model. This includes small test runs. The developer must tell the user the AI model name. The developer must also share the number of tasks and an estimated cost. The developer must wait for a 'yes' before starting. Permission for a small number of tasks does not mean permission for a large number.
A developer wants to test a new AI feature. The test will cost $0.50. The developer must first tell the manager the AI model, the test size, and the $0.50 cost. The developer must wait for the manager's approval. If the developer runs the test without permission, the company pays an unapproved cost.
