◆ AI Learning · Hard rule

What is the difference between a failure and negligence when working with an AI model?

A first-time mistake is a chance to learn. Repeating a known mistake, especially with a defense, shows negligence. This behavior erodes trust and is not acceptable.

The rule

A first-time mistake is a chance to learn.

Repeating a known mistake, especially with a defense, shows negligence. This behavior erodes trust and is not acceptable.

A first attempt that is not perfect is a failure. This is a normal part of learning and development. Repeating a mistake that has already been identified and corrected is negligence. Defending a repeated mistake is even worse. This behavior damages the working relationship with an AI model or team.

A developer creates a prompt for an AI model. The AI model gives an incorrect answer. The developer learns from this and changes the prompt. This is a failure that leads to learning. Later, the developer uses the original, incorrect prompt again. The developer then tries to explain why the old prompt should work. This is negligence and damages trust with the team.

Questions people ask

More from the same record, pulled by shared topic — not written new for this page.

Why does an AI model keep giving the same type of output, even after many changes?

An AI model often produces similar outputs if the underlying instructions are not truly different. Using banned words, even in variable names, can bias the AI model.

How should a developer plan the creation of an AI grammar tool?

A developer should create a plan with two main parts. The first part is for the user.

Turn a Repeated Exception into a Better Instruction

Record the distinction that made the exception necessary. A weak process handles each unusual case privately: "Make an exception here." "Ignore the rule this time." "Use a workaround for this page." The immediate problem gets solved, but the instruction remains wrong or incomplete.

How can an AI model avoid using copyrighted brand slogans?

A developer must check all slogans in the AI model's training data. This check happens in two steps.
