Reconciliation focuses on building a new relationship.
Resolution focuses on solving an old problem. It is easier to reconcile than to resolve.
Resolution means fixing the original problem. It means everyone agrees on what happened. It means everyone agrees on how to move forward. Reconciliation means accepting what happened. It means building a new way to be together. The new relationship might be different or smaller than before. Reconciliation takes less pressure off people. It offers many possible good outcomes. It is not a pass or fail test.
