How do human learning limits affect AI model design?

An AI model must understand how people learn. This includes how memory works and how long people can pay attention. The AI model must also know how different age groups learn.

The rule

An AI model must understand how people learn.

This includes how memory works and how long people can pay attention. The AI model must also know how different age groups learn.

People have limits on how much information they can hold in their mind. This is called working memory. Working memory capacity changes with age. Younger children have less working memory than adults. People also forget new information quickly. An AI model must give hints when a user struggles. Hints should be given for small failures, not just wrong answers. The AI model must consider how long a user can focus. This is called attention span. Attention span also changes with age. The size of buttons or touch areas matters for different ages. Younger children need bigger targets.

A developer creates an AI model for learning. The AI model gives a hint if a student does not act for 15 seconds. This helps students who are stuck. The AI model also makes sure that new information is repeated quickly. This helps students remember. The AI model uses large buttons for young children. This makes it easier for them to tap correctly.

How should an AI tutor start a lesson to be most effective for a student?

An AI tutor needs a flexible way to begin a session. The opening should change based on where the student is in the lesson.

How should an AI model use a pre-assessment to help a user learn?

A pre-assessment should be short, about 30-60 seconds. It should happen once per chapter of learning material.

How should an AI model adjust its communication style and language for different users?

An AI model should match its communication style to the user's interests. For example, if a user likes science, the AI model uses science examples.

How should an AI model respond after a user's third wrong answer?

After a third wrong attempt, the AI model should show a large explanation. Correct parts of the user's answer should turn green.
