◆ AI Learning · Hard rule

Why is part of the user interface hidden or cut off?

A user interface element must fit within the visible screen area. Each element's size and position affect other elements. Developers must calculate the total space needed for all elements.

The rule

A user interface element must fit within the visible screen area.

Each element's size and position affect other elements. Developers must calculate the total space needed for all elements.

A developer changed the size of a status area. The developer made the status area a fixed height. Another element was placed inside this status area. The developer did not calculate the total height needed for all elements. This caused other parts of the interface to be pushed off the screen.

A developer makes a new status bar 28 pixels tall. The developer places a milestone icon inside this bar. The developer also adds text over the icon. The developer does not check the total height of all interface parts. The bottom part of the input controls then disappears. It is pushed below the visible screen.
