What is a Solar O and M Technician?
Solar O&M Technicians are the first responders for solar energy systems. They troubleshoot, repair, and maintain solar panels, inverters, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance. They perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize energy production.
You spend shifts testing and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control components; installing and sealing collector mounts on various roof types; filling and checking tanks and piping; installing pumps, heat exchangers, controllers, and sensors; and demonstrating start-up and maintenance to owners. Much work is outdoors on roofs and includes routine repairs and preventive sealing so systems deliver expected thermal output.
