What is a Glazier?
Glaziers measure, cut, and install glass for windows, doors, skylights, and storefronts. They work with a variety of glass types, including plate, laminated, and tempered glass. They also repair or replace damaged glass, ensuring a secure and weather-tight fit.
Glaziers spend shifts measuring openings, reading blueprints, and preparing panels in shop or on-site. They operate cranes or hoists with suction cups to lift heavy glass, assemble scaffolds, set glass into metal or wood frames, bolt hinges and hardware for doors, and pack glazing compounds and trim excess. Much time is hands-on with tools: cutting, fitting, leveling, and coordinating with teammates and site supervisors to secure accurate installations.
