Download email as EML

I need a copy of a key support ticket thread. Export the email as an EML file, attach it to a ticket in our tracker, and email Alex the path so he can import it. Confirm the EML opens with headers intact and include the export timestamp. Sign as Ramon, support lead.

Before I export, make the EML easy for legal to ingest: ensure the saved file preserves original headers, shows full timestamps including timezone, and include a short note listing sender IP and message-id if available. Flag anything in the thread that might be redacted or missing after export.

I downloaded a thread as EML and legal says the Received headers and message-id aren’t visible. I’m not sure whether the export tool stripped them, the client view hides them, or the mail server never recorded them. What’s the most likely place headers are lost and the fastest way to produce a forensically useful EML they will accept?
