Add social sharing buttons

Add social sharing buttons to the single post template so readers can share to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and email. Put them both above the title and floating on the left side on desktop, stacked under the content on mobile. Ensure the share links include the post permalink, title, and featured image where supported. Test on the latest post and one archived post with no featured image.

Before I add sharing buttons site-wide, make approving the change painless for the content team. Show a mockup of the buttons in the post header and the floating left variant, list the exact share URL formats for each network, and point out when a missing featured image will produce a bad preview. Highlight any CSS impacts that could clash with our theme so the reviewer can greenlight fast.

I installed sharing buttons but when editors share to Twitter the preview image is the site logo, not the post image. I checked that the post has a featured image. I suspect meta tags or caching, but I don't know which. What is the most likely root cause and the exact steps to fix the meta tags and force Twitter to refresh the cache so future shares show the correct post image?

Every time we switch themes or update CSS, the social share buttons need manual adjustments and the team blames me for inconsistent placement. Where is the recurring fault — our implementation pattern or handoff — and what one change in how we build and test templates would stop these recurring style regressions?
