Numbers Up to 100!
Chapter 1: Counting Bigger Worlds
Numbers are getting bigger — but not harder! We'll learn to count smarter, not just more. When we group things together, big numbers become easy!
Riya's Big Event! 🎪
Riya is helping set up for the school fair!
There are so many things to count:
chairs, books, flags, and snacks!
"Counting one by one takes forever!" says Riya.
Milo has an idea:
"Let's count in groups of ten!"
Counting to 100
Watch numbers grow in groups!
Tap +10 to add a row of chairs. See how groups make counting easier!
💡 Notice: Every time we complete a row of 10, it gets highlighted! Counting in groups of ten is called "skip counting."
Making Bundles
10 ones make 1 ten!
Select 10 sticks, then tap "Make a Bundle!"
💡 Key Idea: When we bundle 10 ones together, we call it 1 ten. This is how bigger numbers are built!
Tens and Ones
See inside any number!
Pick a number and see how it's made of tens and ones!
💡 Say it: For 34, we say "3 tens and 4 ones" or "thirty-four". The tens digit tells us how many groups of ten!
Number Path
Jump along the numbers!
Use the buttons to jump forward or backward. Watch where you land!
💡 Notice: Jumping by 10 is fast! The ones digit stays the same when you add or subtract 10.
Which is More?
Compare numbers!
Look at the bundles and ones. Which number is bigger?
💡 Strategy: First compare the tens. If tens are same, then compare the ones!
Practice Zone
Test your skills!
Number Playground
Play with numbers forever!
💡 How to play: Start with any number. Add or subtract to explore! Hear each number spoken. Make 10 moves to unlock ±2, then 20 more for ±3!

Questions & Answers
Counting bigger worlds
Why do we bundle things in tens?
Counting 47 things one by one is slow and easy to lose. Bundles of ten let you count fast. Four bundles and seven loose is 47.
What does a two digit number tell me?
It tells you two things at once. The first digit counts bundles of ten. The second digit counts the loose ones.
Why is 10 written with two marks?
Because we ran out of single marks after 9. Ten means one full bundle and zero loose. The 1 is the bundle, the 0 says no loose ones.
Is 52 bigger than 25?
Yes. 52 has 5 bundles of ten. 25 has only 2 bundles. The same digits in a different order make a very different number.
What is skip counting by tens?
It is jumping ten at a time. Ten, twenty, thirty, forty. Each jump adds one full bundle. It is much faster than counting one by one.
What is the biggest number in this chapter?
One hundred. One hundred is ten bundles of ten. It is the point where you start bundling the bundles.
Why do some numbers sound confusing, like thirteen?
English number names are a bit untidy. Thirteen means three and ten. Once you see the bundle and the loose ones, the name makes sense.
How can I practise at home?
Count with bundles. Use straws, rubber bands, buttons or matchsticks. Make groups of ten and count the leftovers. Say the number out loud.
