Welcome to the Practice Lab!
This is your personal mathematics practice space. Come here anytime you want to sharpen your skills. Pick any zone, try problems, and build your mathematical confidence.
Number Sense Lab
Build your understanding of numbers: place value, comparing, ordering, and number patterns. Strong number sense is the foundation of all mathematics.

Fractions & Decimals Lab
Explore fractions and decimals visually and numerically. Understand equivalent fractions, compare fractions, and see how fractions connect to decimals.
Measurement & Geometry Lab
Practice measuring length, weight, capacity, and time. Explore shapes, angles, perimeter, and area. See how math describes the world around us.
Data & Patterns Lab
Read and interpret data from tables and graphs. Find patterns in numbers and shapes. Data tells stories if you know how to read it.

If a basket shows 🍎🍎🍎🍎, how many apples are there?
Mixed Challenge Lab
Ready for a real challenge? These problems mix topics together, just like real life. You'll need to choose the right tools and think carefully.

Frequently Asked Questions
Using the practice lab well
What is this practice lab designed to do?
Generate unlimited fresh questions so the child practises the underlying idea rather than remembering specific items. It also removes the anxiety of a finite worksheet that can be failed.
How should practice sessions be structured?
Short, frequent and slightly uncomfortable. Fifteen to twenty focused minutes at the edge of ability beats an hour of questions that are already easy.
Should my child practise weak topics only?
Mostly, but not entirely. Include some secure work to keep it quick and to keep confidence intact. A session made entirely of difficulty is rarely repeated willingly.
What should be done with a wrong answer?
Diagnose it rather than redo it. Ask what the child believed the question was asking. Careless slips and genuine misconceptions look identical on paper but need opposite responses.
Does timed practice help at Class 5?
Only after accuracy is stable. Timing an insecure skill trains guessing. Timing a secure skill builds useful fluency. The order matters a great deal.
Is mixed practice better than practising one topic at a time?
For retention, yes. Mixed sets force the child to decide which method applies, and that decision is the part real problems actually test.
How do we measure progress honestly?
By the kind of error, not the score. Fewer place value slips, cleaner working, faster method choice. These show real change even when marks move slowly.
What if practice becomes a source of conflict?
Reduce the length before reducing the difficulty, and give the child control over which topic to do. A willing ten minutes is worth more than a resented forty.
Mathematics is like any skill — the more you practice, the better you get. Come back to this lab often. Try different zones. Challenge yourself. Every problem you solve makes your mathematical thinking stronger.
