What is a Green Building Consultant?
Green Building Consultants specialize in advising architects, developers, and construction teams on the design, construction, and operation of buildings that minimize environmental impact and maximize occupant well-being. You spend much of the day collecting and analyzing energy and waste indicators, writing concise reports and presentations, and coordinating by email and phone with clients, contractors, and sustainability teams. Periodic site visits verify systems and waste streams, while you develop project goals, prioritize measures for cost effectiveness and feasibility, and prepare funding or rebate applications that help projects move from concept to implementation.
