Add time question

I need a question asking students to enter the time they started the test and store it as a plain time field. Add a question labelled Start time, require an answer, and make the response type a time-only input so it records hours and minutes. Put this question immediately after the student name question and mark it required before I share the form tomorrow at 08:00.

Before I send this to teachers, make the Start time question obvious and easy to answer: move it near the top, label it Start time (HH:MM), require it, and include the placeholder text Use 24-hour format. Also make sure the response type is a time field not a text line and flag if any logic or section breaks will hide it for some students.

I added a student name question first. I’m not sure whether to use a full datetime or a time-only field. Administrators want consistent format and proctors want minimal clicks. Which is more reliable for analysis across sections, and what should I add now to prevent students entering free-form times?

Across five quizzes I keep getting inconsistent start-time entries and manual cleanup. Where is the process leaking — question type, labeling, or proctor instructions — and what habit change will stop it? Recommend one change I can enforce today and one small validation step to add to every form.
