Change display name

Our all-hands slide deck needs the display names to show full last names for recognition. Change my display name to Maya Patel — she/her and set it to appear across the workspace before the 9am all-hands tomorrow so I’m called by the right name in the attendee list.

Before we roll a naming convention across the engineering org, make the display name change easy to approve — propose a consistent format (First Last — pronouns), show how it appears in threads and mentions, and flag cases where the change would break integrations or custom bots that expect username handles.

I updated my display name to include my pronouns and suddenly some automations stopped tagging me. I need to know whether those notifications broke because of a handle vs. display name mismatch, which automations to check first, and how to restore notifications without undoing the name change.

We repeatedly get wrong attendee lists and missed mentions because people use inconsistent display names. Are we losing control because we allow freeform names, because onboarding doesn’t set defaults, or because bots rely on old handle formats? Recommend one habit or small policy change to get consistent display names across the team.
