In this short poem a child tells us about the day a snake bit him. He was very scared and screamed loudly. Then a doctor came and gave him an injection, and he became well. After this the child understood an important thing - the snake itself was not so frightening. It was his own fear inside his mind that frightened him so much. The poem teaches us that most of the time it is our fear, not the real danger, that troubles us.
The central idea of the poem is that fear inside our mind is often bigger than the real danger. If we stay brave and take the right help (like going to a doctor), the trouble can be solved easily.
