गुरु और चेला

यह एक गुरु और उसके चेले की मज़ेदार कविता है। दोनों मिलकर शहर में ककड़ी बेचने निकलते हैं और तय करते हैं कि जो कमाएँगे, बाँटकर खाएँगे। रास्ते में गुरु के पैरों में दर्द होने लगता है और वह चालाकी से चेले को कहता है कि वह उसे कंधे पर उठा ले। पर चतुर चेला तपाक से जवाब देता है कि यदि किसी को सवारी करनी है तो वह करेगा और गुरु को उसे उठाना पड़ेगा! अंत में चेला अपने गुरु से भी ज़्यादा चतुर निकलता है।

This is a funny poem about a guru (teacher) and his chela (disciple). They set out together to the city to sell cucumbers, agreeing to share whatever they earn. On the way, the guru's legs ache and he cunningly asks the disciple to carry him on his shoulders. But the clever chela answers back smartly that if anyone is to ride, it will be him, and the guru must carry him! In the end the disciple turns out to be even cleverer than the teacher.

The poem humorously shows that the disciple proved to be even cleverer and smarter than his teacher.
