Studying in Australia
Australia offers globally ranked universities, a large international-student system, and a post-study work visa tied to qualification level. Indian students go for research strength, work rights during study, and pathways to skilled migration, but the government has sharply raised the student visa fee and tightened the genuine-student and financial-capacity checks since 2024.

- Up to 48 hours per fortnight during study terms/semesters; no fortnightly cap is stated for scheduled course breaks (Study Australia).
- After graduating
- Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485): Post-Vocational Education stream up to 18 months; Post-Higher Education stream usually 2-3 years depending on qualification (5 years for Hong Kong/BNO passport holders in both streams); a Second Post-Higher Education Work stream of 1-2 years exists depending on where the applicant studied regionally (Study Australia).
