चिट्ठी का सफ़र

'चिट्ठी का सफ़र' पाठ बताता है कि एक चिट्ठी भेजने वाले से पाने वाले तक कैसे पहुँचती है। हम चिट्ठी लिखते हैं, उस पर पता और टिकट लगाते हैं और उसे लाल डाकपेटी में डाल देते हैं। डाकिया उसे इकट्ठा करके डाकघर ले जाता है, जहाँ चिट्ठियों को उनके गंतव्य के अनुसार छाँटा जाता है। फिर चिट्ठियाँ रेलगाड़ी, बस, ट्रक या हवाई जहाज़ से दूर के शहरों और गाँवों तक पहुँचती हैं। मंज़िल के डाकघर में उन्हें फिर से छाँटा जाता है और वहाँ का डाकिया हर चिट्ठी को सही घर पहुँचाता है। यह पाठ डाक व्यवस्था के पीछे की मेहनत दिखाता है और हमें डाकिया का आदर करना सिखाता है।

'Chitthi ka Safar' explains how a letter travels from the sender to the receiver. We write a letter, put the address and a stamp on it, and drop it in a red post box. A postman collects it and takes it to the post office, where letters are sorted according to where they have to go. The letters then travel by train, bus, truck or aeroplane to reach distant cities and villages. At the destination post office they are sorted again, and the local postman delivers each letter to the right house. The lesson shows the hard work behind the postal system and teaches us to value the postman.

The central idea is that a simple letter makes a long and interesting journey through many hands and many vehicles before it reaches the right person, thanks to the hard work of the post office and the postman.
