This lesson tells the true story of Bachendri Pal, who set out to climb Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. On the way, her team faced great dangers — icy paths, deep cracks and a terrible avalanche that buried many climbers. Though several members were injured, Bachendri did not give up. With courage and hard work, she reached the summit on 23 May 1984 and became the first Indian woman to climb Everest, hoisting the Indian flag there.
