डाकिए की कहानी, कँवरसिंह की जुबानी

इस कहानी में कँवरसिंह नाम का एक अनुभवी पहाड़ी डाकिया हमें अपने जीवन और काम के बारे में बताता है। कुमाऊँ के पहाड़ों में चिट्ठियाँ और मनीऑर्डर पहुँचाना बहुत कठिन था। दूर-दूर के गाँवों तक पहुँचने के लिए वह हर रोज़ कई मील पैदल चलता, ऊँची पहाड़ियाँ चढ़ता और बारिश, ठंड तथा बर्फ़ में नदियाँ व जंगल पार करता था। गाँव के लोग उसका बेसब्री से इंतज़ार करते क्योंकि वह उनके अपनों की खबर और पैसा लेकर आता था। कँवरसिंह हमेशा अपना कर्तव्य ईमानदारी और बहादुरी से निभाता और इस बात पर गर्व करता कि उसकी मेहनत से कई परिवारों को खुशी मिलती है।

In this story, an experienced hill postman named Kanwar Singh tells us about his life and work. Delivering letters and money orders in the mountains of Kumaon was very hard. He walked many miles every day, climbed steep hills, and crossed rivers and forests in rain, cold and snow to reach far-off villages. Villagers waited eagerly for him because he brought news and money from their loved ones. Kanwar Singh always did his duty honestly and bravely, and felt proud that his hard work brought happiness to many families.

The story shows the hard work, courage and sense of duty of a hill postman who delivered letters and money to far-off villages through difficult mountain paths.
