Electronic words are names we use for parts and small machines that use electricity. These include items you see every day, like a battery, bulb, wire, switch and plug. Electronics help things work: a fan spins, a light glows, a toy moves. Learning these words helps children talk about how things turn on and off.
We will use simple sentences to say what each item does. For example, "The battery gives power" or "The switch turns the light on." We will also learn short safety words like "hot", "plug in", "do not touch" and signs that show caution. Knowing these words makes it easier to follow teacher instructions and care for toys and gadgets.
In class we will look at pictures, listen to short stories, and do small drawing or matching activities. Each activity uses the new words many times so children can remember them. A battery is like a small power box. It stores energy and gives power to toys, torches and remote controls. Batteries have two ends. One end is marked with a + sign and the other with a - sign. A switch or button helps us start or stop something. When we press a button or flip a switch, electricity can flow or stop flowing. This makes a light go on or off, or makes a toy start or stop. There are many kinds of switches: push buttons, sliding switches and toggle switches.
Teach simple words: "Press the button" and "Flip the switch up to turn on." Show the ON and OFF marks. ON often means the device works; OFF means it does not work. Practice safe touching: use dry hands and do not push buttons on plugs or wall sockets.
Children can play a game where they press a pretend button and say what happens next. This helps them learn cause and effect: button down = sound or light; button up = stop. Teachers should show that some devices have small buttons that are not for play, for example, those on a TV remote or a cooker.
