- Each service separately: Indian Army (online Common Entrance Exam via joinindianarmy.nic.in), Indian Navy (INET for Agniveer SSR/MR), Indian Air Force (Agniveervayu)
- Admits you to
- Four-year engagement as an Agniveer (non-officer rank) in the Army, Navy or Air Force. Army categories include General Duty, Technical, Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Tradesmen and Women Military Police; Navy has Agniveer SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) and MR (Matric Recruit). At the end of four years Agniveers exit with a Seva Nidhi package; a portion are selected for regular service.
- Who can sit
- Varies by service and trade. Navy Agniveer SSR: Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics and 50% aggregate (or an engineering diploma or equivalent vocational course with 50%). Navy Agniveer MR: Class 10 with 50%. Navy age: 17½ to 22 on the day of enrolment. Army Tradesmen categories include Class 8 and Class 10 entries. Candidates awaiting board results can apply if they produce marksheets by Stage II.
- Pattern
- Stage I: an online computer-based written exam (Army CEE; Navy INET). Stage II: physical fitness test, document check, a further written/assessment step (Navy) and a medical examination. Syllabus and question counts differ by service and trade.
- When
- Army CEE usually in April–June (the 2026 CEE ran in early-to-mid June); Navy and Air Force run their own intakes, often twice a year.
- Limits
- No attempt limit; the age window of each service is the binding rule.
