SBI recruits separately.
- Who can sit
- A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Age 20 to 30 (counted on 1 July of the recruitment year), with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 for OBC-NCL, and more for PwBD and ex-servicemen.
- Pattern
- Three stages. Online Preliminary: 100 questions, 60 minutes, three separately timed sections — English Language (30), Quantitative Aptitude (35), Reasoning Ability (35). Online Main: 170 objective questions for 200 marks in 160 minutes (Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English, Data Analysis and Interpretation), plus a 30-minute descriptive paper (essay and comprehension, 25 marks). Then a non-qualifying Personality Test and a common Interview, after which candidates are provisionally allotted to banks. A quarter of the marks for a question is deducted for each wrong objective answer.
- When
- Notification around June–July; Preliminary in August; Main in October; interviews in November–December; allotment early the next year.
- Limits
- No attempt limit for general candidates set in the notification; the 20–30 age window is the binding limit.
