Know this. The internship completion cut-off decides whether you can sit that year's exam at all; a few weeks' delay in internship can push you to the next cycle.

- Admits you to
- MD, MS and PG Diploma seats in the all-India 50% quota, state quotas, private and deemed medical colleges and the Armed Forces Medical Services, and post-MBBS DNB and NBEMS diploma courses. AIIMS, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER, NIMHANS and Sree Chitra Tirunal admit through their own separate process (INI-CET), not NEET-PG.
- Who can sit
- An MBBS degree (or provisional pass certificate) recognised under the NMC Act, 2019, permanent or provisional registration with the NMC or a State Medical Council, and one year of internship completed by the cut-off date set in that year's bulletin.
- Pattern
- Computer-based test, 3 hours 30 minutes, 180 multiple-choice questions in English, split into five timed sections of 36 questions and 42 minutes each; you cannot go back to a section once its time ends. +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong one.
- When
- Has moved between March, June and August in recent years; the 2026 exam was held in late August. Counselling (MCC for all-India quota, states for state quota) follows the result.
- Limits
- No attempt limit or upper age limit is set in the bulletin; your internship must finish by the cut-off date for that year.
