- MBA/PGDM admission at XLRI (Jamshedpur and Delhi-NCR) and 150-plus member and associate business schools (XIMB, XIM University, SPJIMR and others accept it). Each school runs its own application and selection.
- Who can sit
- A recognised bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline; final-year students may apply if they finish final exams by mid-June of the admission year. Indian candidates must take XAT for XLRI; NRI, foreign and OCI candidates may use GMAT instead.
- Pattern
- Computer-based, 3 hours, no sectional time limits, with an on-screen scientific calculator. Part 1 (170 minutes): Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (about 26 questions), Decision Making (about 21), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (about 28); +1 per correct answer, -0.25 per wrong answer, and -0.10 for each unattempted question beyond eight. Part 2 (10 minutes): General Knowledge, about 20 questions, no negative marking, used only by XLRI.

- Usually the first Sunday of January; registration from about July to December; results roughly three weeks after the exam.
