Know this. You must clear a minimum mark in every section, not just the total, and a weak interview can knock you out even with a high test score.
- Run by
- Indian Institute of Management Indore
- Admits you to
- The five-year Integrated Programme in Management (BBA + MBA) at IIM Indore. Several other institutes, including IIM Ranchi, Shillong, Amritsar, Sambalpur and Sirmaur and some private management schools, use the IPM AT score for their own integrated programmes. IIM Rohtak runs a separate test.
- Who can sit
- Class 12 passed in the previous two years or appearing this year, and Class 10 passed. Age limit by date of birth (for the 2026 intake: born on or after 1 August 2006; five years relaxation for SC, ST and PwD).
- Pattern
- Computer-based aptitude test of 2 hours in three separately timed 40-minute sections: Quantitative Ability (MCQ), Quantitative Ability (short answer) and Verbal Ability (MCQ). Each question carries 4 marks with -1 for a wrong answer, except the short-answer section, which has no negative marking. Shortlisted candidates then face a Personal Interview; final merit combines the test and interview.
- When
- Applications usually open in February; the test is held in late April or May, interviews follow in May–June.
- Limits
- No attempt limit, but the age cut-off and the rule that Class 12 must be from the last two years or the current year effectively allow about three tries.
