Admits you to

B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management) and M.F.Tech at NIFT's campuses across India.

Who can sit

B.Des: Class 12 (any stream) or a 3–4 year AICTE/state diploma after Class 10. B.F.Tech: Class 12 with Mathematics, or an engineering diploma. For both, you must be under 24 years on 1 August of the admission year (five years relaxation for SC, ST and PwD). Master's programmes need a bachelor's degree (M.Des also accepts a three-year NIFT/NID diploma) and have no age limit.

Pattern

General Ability Test (GAT) on computer and Creative Ability Test (CAT) on paper, both on the same day; questions are bilingual (Hindi and English), 1 mark each with -0.25 for a wrong answer. B.Des merit: GAT 30%, CAT 50%, then a hands-on Situation Test (model making) 20%. B.F.Tech merit: GAT only (Section A 30%, Section B 70%). M.Des and M.F.M add a personal interview.

Applications from about November to January; the entrance is held in early February; Situation Test/interviews around April–May; seat allocation in May–June.

Limits

UG: must be under 24 on 1 August of the admission year (29 for SC, ST, PwD). No age limit for master's. No attempt limit stated.
