About the author: Girija Kumar Mathur (1919-1994) was a celebrated Hindi poet, playwright and translator. Born in Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh), he was an important poet of the experimentalist (Prayogvad) and 'Nayi Kavita' movements in Hindi literature.
