The poem 'Kar Chale Hum Fida' is a powerful tribute to the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism. Through the voice of dying soldiers, Kaifi Azmi portrays warriors who, even as their breath stopped and pulse froze in the bitter Himalayan cold, did not let their advancing steps halt. They declare they have no regret even if their heads are cut off, for they did not let the honour of the Himalayas - the symbol of the nation - bow down. The poet glorifies martyrdom by saying that the season to lay down one's life comes rarely, and a youth that does not bathe in blood for the country disgraces both beauty and love. The soldiers see the blood-soaked earth as a decorated bride, turning death into a sacred celebration. They urge the living to keep the path of sacrifice alive by sending new caravans of brave soldiers, reminding them that victory always follows sacrifice. Finally, by comparing the motherland to Sita and the enemy to Ravan, the poet calls upon every citizen to become Ram and Lakshman, ever ready to defend the nation's honour. Thus, the poem celebrates selfless sacrifice as the highest expression of love for the motherland and inspires undying patriotism.

In the poem, the dying soldiers entrust their countrymen with the sacred responsibility of protecting the motherland. The recurring refrain 'Ab tumhare hawale watan saathiyo' (now the country is in your care) makes this clear. They ask the living never to let the path of sacrifice become deserted, but to keep sending new caravans of brave soldiers to defend the border. They urge them to tie the shroud on their heads, that is, to remain ever ready to die for the nation, for victory comes only after sacrifice. Comparing the motherland to Sita and the enemy to Ravan, they call upon citizens to become Ram and Lakshman who guard her honour and never let any enemy cross the border. This gives the youth a powerful message: love for the motherland is supreme, and they must always place the nation above their own lives. They should preserve the freedom and dignity won by the sacrifices of martyrs, remain alert against enemies, and be prepared to make any sacrifice for the country's honour. The poem inspires the youth to be courageous, selfless and ever devoted to their motherland.
